Midwifes conquering Stockholm

Last weekend, my sister and some friends came to visit me and the city. We spent some days walking around Stockholm and on Sunday we went to Uppsala.

I'm so expert now at showing the city =). Here, a brief list where we were, is

The city hall: you shouldn't miss it. I think is super interesting. You are not allowed to get in without a guide. It's a little annoying because the visits are just each hour but at the same time it is quite useful. The guide explains us a lot of curiosities about the building and the Nobel prices as here is where the reception is.

Besides visiting the city hall, you can up through the tower. This is only possible during the summer season. On the top there is one of the most beautiful views from Stockholm. It's complete in front of Gamla Stan so you can see the whole old city

The Royal palace: We were watching the changing the guard and the Royal apartments. This time the changing was with horses so was more eye-catching that one with my parents. We also visited the royal apartments. With my parents, I saw the treasure and the rest of the castle too.
It's nice but to me is something that you can skip.

Almost every day we took some typical Swedish food, which means salmon a lot. One day we took Greek food, eat beef for the first time in six months was so great =) There are places in Hörtoget and in Östermalm (Saluhall) where you can find some food. The last one is so nice, you should go there!

We were also walking around Djurgården, Kungsträdgården...

On Sunday, we went to Uppsala. It's crazy how one city can change between the winter (I was there on January) and the spring. Actually, the first time I was in Uppsala I thought that was a little ugly. Now, my mind has changed completely! I think is great. There are a lot of parks, the river is so beautiful and the cathedral is amazing

But it looks that people from Uppsala should still revise Spanish geography. Notice where Toledo is located =).
PD: if you click in the picture, you can see it bigger.

It's really close to Stockholm and the journey is just one hour. It's worth to go there if you have the opportunity.

The fist University in Sweden is located in Uppsala. It was made by Gustav Vasa, one of the most important kings here in Sweden because he contributed to make the country much better and he drove out danish people from Sweden. His tomb is located in the cathedral, here in Uppsala.

The visit was so great. We enjoyed the city during the day and also during the night, even we made mojitos =). I was really excited to see my sister again. I'm starting to feel that I miss a little my Spanish life (but just a little ;p)

And that's all, he dicho....
